When you spend time with folks in the emergency air ambulance industry, you learn that they have a lot in common. For instance, it becomes clear that individuals who commit to this lifesaving work—pilots, flight nurses, paramedics, communications specialists, aircraft maintenance technicians, team leaders and administrators—do so because they have to. They didn’t just get a job; they followed a calling. Merriam-Webster’s definition of calling includes, “a strong inner impulse toward a particular course of action, especially when accompanied by conviction.” Well, you’ll find plenty of conviction here at CALSTAR. Each of our employees is ready, waiting and qualified to serve our patients and clients. Every single day, residents of and visitors to the communities we serve are positively impacted by our team’s unwavering commitment and extraordinary skills.
From day one, CALSTAR has set a high bar regarding the practice of “critical care in motion.” To support our continuing success, it is essential that we observe and evaluate ourselves and our operations along the way. It has been over 30 years since our first patient transport, and we remain committed to fine-tuning our programs and practices each time we identify an opportunity to do so.
It is a privilege and an honor to help victims of trauma and illness. By maintaining our focus on impeccable patient care, diligent safety procedures, superior coordination and communication practices and integrity-based business relationships, we will continue to fulfill our mission of speeding the recovery of each patient we transport.
